It's almost time for MommyCon! Haven't heard of it before? It's the convention focusing on natural parenting. Imagine a day of speakers, workshops, and vendors that speak to families about natural birth, baby wearing, breastfeeding, and more. MommyCon also advocates for child safety standards and procedures, and female self-care and wellness. What I especially love about MommyCon is that it's a chance for moms to find their community among like-minded peers. I've blogged previously about how motherhood can be isolating, but this is a wonderful way to find your people. Don't worry, dads are welcome, too. There are even a few speakers geared just for fathers and partners.
This year, MommyCon Austin will be on Saturday, June 25. It's their only Texas stop this year! Believe it or not, this is my first MommyCon. Despite all of the topics being right up my alley (I mean, hello), I've never been to one before. I'm wishing I had gone in previous years when I was new to being a mother and my boys were younger. Not only will this be my first MommyCon to attend, but I will also be a speaker during the event!
Gratuitous plug: my topic is Sex and the Breastfeeding Mother and I will be speaking in room 4 from 3-4.
I will be spending the day there because the rest of the schedule looks amazing. I'm already trying to plan which talks and speakers to attend. If you're attending and spot me wandering around, say hi. We'll hug and take a selfie!
Now for the fun part:
